Piapot Education experiment EXPOSED

On October 12 2004 The situation with the Chief and New Horizons Third party Managers escalated into a peaceful protest by Parents and concerned bandmembers. As school buses were turned away at the gates, desperate teachers and a wannabe Elder breached the blockade with frightened student in tow.

Protestors remained at the barricade till after school hours and students left for the day. Realizing that Chief Murray Ironchild and Council would not meet with them and were not hesistant in using the children to undermine the resolve of demonstrators, it was decided that the school would be occupied and closed till the issues were resolved . here are some links to the unfolding drama. At 10 am councilor B Kais. tried to crash the gate with a t.a. Rcmp intervened and led him away when the T.A. assualted an Elder and tempers flaired. It was noted that the langauge of the Elected Councilor was verbally obscene and derogatory towards membership. Wannabe Elder also tried to pry the gate open but jammed his fingers. 2 Days later he was sporiting a home made cast and claimed that protestors broke his arm in the incident. ( it obvously didn't interfere with his Bingo dabbing as he observed attending nightly sessions ).
New phrase for today "Bingo Elder"- one who doesn't know anything and could care less.

For 30 days coinciding with the anniversary of Wounded Knee the protestors held firm..defying intimidation from Chief Murray and Council, Indian Affairs, Qu'appelle Tribal Council, RCMP (inc/ SWAT) Mediators came and went on a daily basis. (the average lifespan of a mediator was about 2 trips to the band office and back.) Protestors finally hired their own mediator who negotiated a last minute deal with in 1 hour for $10.00. Elders and protest group exited safely under the watchful eyes of the Creator and the Grandfathers. The last night of the occupation was highlighted by a brilliant display from the Northern Lights It must be noted here that Indian Affairs reneged on it's word shortly after.
An interesting comment by councilor Rockthunder" I support you..but I'm going both ways on this issue". (lol)
New phrase for to day "Political Masturbation" - when officials want to be seen doing something but aren't really, actually doing anything.
